Course Description
BAE 102 – Fundamentals of Management introduces students to the essential principles, practices, and responsibilities of effective management in today's professional environment. Through instruction, practical examples, discussions, and applied learning activities, students will develop a foundational understanding of how managers plan, organize, lead, communicate, coordinate, and evaluate organizational activities.
The course is designed to help students understand the role of a manager as both an organizational leader and a facilitator of employee and organizational success. Students will explore management functions, leadership approaches, decision-making, communication, teamwork, motivation, delegation, conflict management, problem-solving, organizational structure, and ethical management practices.
This course supports the broader IPSD emphasis on practical, career-focused learning, leadership development, organizational management, and workplace readiness.

What the Lecturer Will Provide
The lecturer will guide students through foundational management concepts while connecting classroom learning to practical workplace situations. Students will be encouraged to participate in discussions, analyze management scenarios, complete assignments, and apply management principles to situations they may encounter as employees, supervisors, administrators, entrepreneurs, or organizational leaders.
The goal is not simply for students to memorize management terminology, but to develop the knowledge, confidence, communication skills, leadership awareness, and practical management abilities needed to contribute effectively within an organization.
